Get to know Seth Harp!
THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM
and Seth Harp have been interlaced for decades. Seth got his start in the political sphere before he, himself, could even vote! Harp volunteered calling voters on Election Days back in the 90’s offering to arrange transportation to the polls for people who could not drive or get there on their own.
UPON COLLEGE GRADUATION,
Harp, at the age of 22, became one of the youngest talk show hosts in the history of WKZO Radio in Kalamazoo, MI joining the likes of Paul Harvey, Harry Caray and Tom Snyder who all appeared on the station early in their careers.
For over a quarter century Harp has worked a Program Director, Host and Radio/Media Station Manager in six different states. Over a decade ago, Harp moved to Florida and decided that he had found paradise and his permanent home.
Harp has run and operated nine radio stations and media entities since 2001, and he has helped grow and develop an entire generation of media professionals. People who have worked with him have found their way to FOX Sports, ESPN, CBS and dozens of other media companies.
This decade, as Operations Manager at ESPN Gainesville and as Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism, Harp has helped mold their next generation of communicators.
His students and employees have not only won awards they have started their careers with major networks and even Hip Hop Labels.
So why run for office?
It’s time for me to step up.
My family has always given their time and careers to the greater good. Both of my grandfathers served in WWII. My Great Uncle served in Korea. My Uncle served in Vietnam. Numerous friends and family fought in The War on Terror. My mother worked as an ER Nurse, my father, a teacher and coach. My sisters run businesses and work in the Behavioral Health Care Profession. I owe my decades long career to my family for their sacrifices and hard work. It’s now my turn to give back and set an example for my nieces, nephews and entire family.
